About the project

The carob tree (Ceratonia siliqua L.) is a characteristic species of Mediterranean ecosystems, with relevant economic and environmental potential and high adaptation to conditions of low water availability.

The αlf_@PlantSelection project seeks to optimise the vegetative propagation processes of this species, including micropropagation techniques, contributing to increased availability of high-quality clonal plant material.

The work aims to contribute to the valorisation and sustainability of carob cultivation and to its long-term economic viability.
