About the project
The carob tree (Ceratonia siliqua L.) is a characteristic species of Mediterranean ecosystems, recognised for its adaptation to conditions of low water availability and its relevant economic and environmental potential.
The αlf_@PlantSelection project aims to research and optimise vegetative propagation techniques of the carob tree, including micropropagation approaches, seeking to contribute to the production of high-quality clonal plant material.
The development of these methodologies may contribute to increasing the availability of selected plants, supporting the productivity of the crop, and strengthening the sustainability and valorisation of the carob tree in Mediterranean territories.
